As a transformed procrastinator I have come to discover that the habit comes due to lack of confidence. When you set to do a project and along the way you think that you are not able to accomplish it, most people end up postponing the whole venture. They come up with many excuses that sometimes are not valid, like claiming the project is boring or involving.
According to psychologist, procrastination is categorized in three sections which are excitement, evasion and indecisive kinds of people. Realize that all this categories can easily hinder your personal growth.
The excitement types of people are the ones who claim they need some adventure to pursue a certain course. These are the kind of people that need some adrenaline rush to carry out a project and if there is no thrill they easily give up. They wait until the last minute to start running all over the place to attend to their tasks.
As for the evasive type of procrastinators, they postpone issues whenever they find out that it will take hard work to achieve success. They also give up anytime they see that failure would mean others will view them as losers. Rather than be seen as losers or lacking ability, they like making excuses by claiming they did not have enough time to accomplish their tasks.
The worst of them all are those people who cannot make up their minds what they want to do. Indecisive procrastinators are uncertain in every aspect of their lives. They are the kind of people who never initiate any venture and live it to others to make choices for them.
The answer to overcoming procrastination is not easy to find but dealing with facts would really help instead of relying on conceptual things. All said and done you can for sure overcome procrastination thus personal growth.
