Are you wondering why you do not seem to land that job yet your resume is very convincing? Though some things are not mentioned but they really matter when it comes to interviews, I love calling them the unwritten laws. Carefully observe the dress code of most organizations and you will discover that each company has its own mode of dressing.

When attending an interview keep off tight fitting clothes and mini-skirts especially if it is an office job. As we all know first impressions really count and with these revealing clothing you are likely to portray a negative impression. Instead dress simple and smartly, make sure your clothes are clean and well ironed. Also ensure that your shoes are black in color and well polished, confirm just before you enter the interview whether your shoes are carrying dust or mud.

Apart from your trousers being neat also make sure they cover your ankles and also they should not too long to an extent of dragging under the soles of your shoes. As for ladies try and avoid wearing excessive jewellery and accessories, be moderate instead.

Neat hair is crucial when it comes to first impressions; therefore attend to your hair before attending an interview. For women visit a salon and make your hair, go for neat a simple and neat hair do. As for the men, it would be advisable to visit your barber and have a hair cut, short hair is recommendable.

These dressing codes go a long way to form first impressions and even they portray your character and organization level. So next time you are called for an interview, dress for the occasion.
