Nowadays, getting a job has become a daunting task especially with many having lost their jobs because of the economic recession. This people who have being retrenched have the advantage in that they have work experience, therefore when it comes to the individuals entering the job market for the first time it can prove to be quiet difficult to get employment.

This therefore calls for implementation of tactics that would make an employer consider your application and leave out other applicants. In order to sell yourself, take time to come up with a cover letter that has a sales pitch. This can prove to be the doorway to earning that long awaited interview. Consider for example when you are looking to buy a book, the cover that attracts you most is the one with maybe a nice preview.

Brevity counts when it comes to drafting an application letter. Your cover letter should not be more than one page in length. The things to include should be a very short description of who you are and outlining your achievements, skills and qualifications. Also in addition, mention why you would love to work for the particular company.

Towards the end of you letter remember to politely request the addressee to get in touch with you. Experts actually state that all these pointers should not exceed four paragraphs. Once you are through drafting the letter, make sure you proof read it severally and if need be, have someone else to review it for you. This will ensure that your grammar is correct and confirm clarity.
