It is evident that most of us do not really understand the weight these two titles carry. There is a lot more than just being smart and all made up on that day. Following is some insight on what you should do:

Your thoughts and advice; Prior to the big day, your advice and your thoughts especially on decision making regarding the wedding arrangements will come in handy. Listen to them and only help execute what they really want because even though your views are important what they want is what matters.

Being there for them; Besides moral support, there may be financial needs to cater for the ceremony and if in a position to assist then you should not hesitate. You should also keep in touch with the organizers to ensure everything goes as planned and that there no set backs. For instance, you do not want to find out that the wine is not enough in the midst of the banquet.

Careful with the best man/maid of honor toast; First of all, for you to have qualified for this title, I want to believe that you are close to them in some way. Prepare in advance for these, choose your words carefully. Do not go spilling the beans about their past since we all have a history.

Follow up and be a friend: After the d-day, that is just not it, actually this is where it all begins. Know how they are faring after the honey moon, be a role model especially if you are married the impression they get about your marriage is very crucial. Finally be a friend and when I say a friend I mean a true one.
